Objectives: This study was performed to evaluate the quality of case reports from the

Maternal and Child Health Care & Functional Medicine and Nutrition Association in accordance 

with CARE (CAse REport) guidelines.

Methods: Researchers selected case reports of Maternal and Child Health Care & Functional 

Medicine and Nutrition Association in the database of Google Scholar. The quality of selected 

reports was assessed based on CARE guidelines.

Results: Total of 12 case reports were included in this study. Reporting rate of each 

sub-items was 92.59% at the maximum, 62.96% at the minimum, 77.42% at the median. ‘7 

Time line’, ‘8b Diagnostic challenges’, ‘10c Intervention adherence and tolerability’, ‘10d Adverse 

and unanticipated events’, ‘12 Patient perspective or experience’, ‘13 Informed consent’ were 

missed in more than 50% of the reports.

Conclusion: For improvement of the quality of case reports, it is necessary to evaluate case 

reports from the Maternal and Child Health Care & Functional Medicine and Nutrition 

Association in adherence to CARE guidelines.
